All of her education was at Cairo University’s Kasr El Aini School of Medicine, where she received her medical degree in 1992. Dr. Lashin was an associate professor of medicine at Cairo University for 15 years. Upon coming to the United States, Dr. Lashin was a postdoctoral research fellow at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. In 2014, she completed her residency in internal medicine at Sinai-Grace Hospital–Detroit Medical Center, which is affiliated with Wayne State University in Detroit. She obtained board certification in internal medicine the same year.

On top of these achievements, Dr. Lashin is a certified trainer in ethics in international medical research through the University of Maryland and has a Cambridge Diploma for Teachers and Trainers issued by Cambridge University in the United Kingdom. All of this attests to her dedication to mentoring medical students and nurses.
